      Introduction of Acidity(Acid Reflux)
Acidity or Acid Reflux is one of the most common Clinical Condition which triggered by Stress, irregular food habits or taking too much of spices.
Acidity or Acid Reflux refers to regurgitation of acid or partly digested food from the stomach into the food pipe (oesophagus) or mouth. With the help of gravity, a muscular valve called the lower oesophageal sphincter (LES), keeps stomach acid in the stomach. The LES is located where the oesophagus meets the stomach.
Normally, it opens to allow food into the stomach or to permit belching, then closes again. But if the LES opens too frequently or for too long, stomach acid can seep into the oesophagus and cause a burning sensation. The sourness of Acid Reflux is due to fermentation of food in the stomach or over-secretion of acid.
      Introduction of Acidity(Acid Reflux)
      Stress Overeating
Irregular eating habits Bending, lying down or physical exertion too soon after eating
      Obesity Pregnancy
      Alcohol Cigarette smoking
Certain drugs like aspirin, antibiotics, etc Certain food which relax the LES like tomatoes, citrus fruits, garlic, onions, chocolate, coffee, tea, alcohol and peppermint
      Symptoms of Acidity(Acid Reflux)
A burning sensation, usually in the lower chest just behind breastbone (the sternum), that occurs after eating, and lasts from a few minutes to several hours.
Chest pain after bending over or lying down; after eating or drinking alcohol.
Pain relieved by belching or antacids.
      Belching, sour eructations
Burning in throat - or hot, sour, or salty-tasting fluid at the back of the throat - and a feeling that food is getting stuck after swallowing.
Sour taste in mouth with nausea.
      Homeopathic Treatment for Acidity(Acid Reflux)
Acidity is a functional constitutional problem and can be treated successfully with Homeopathic medicines. When we give Homeopathic treatment for Acidity, it serves to optimize the functioning of the LES and acid secretion in the stomach reduces. Homeopathic treatment for Acidity along with a few lifestyle changes will give effective and long lasting relief.
While deciding the individualized constitutional medicines, a detailed history of the patient is taken. The case taking includes evaluation of the physical and mental aspects of the person including the triggering factors like stress, diet, genetic predisposition, etc. The medicine thus prescribed gives lasting relief and helps to overcome dependence on antacids.

      Introduction of ADHD
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a developmental disorder that is largely neurological in nature and it affects 3- 5 % of the children population of the World. ADHD is characterized by a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity. ADHD is most commonly diagnosed in children but over the past decade, it has also been increasingly diagnosed in adults.
      Causes of ADHD
The exact cause of ADHD remains unknown. The genetic linkage associated with this disorder is still being explored and in many cases, children with ADHD often show a family history. While majority of ADHD cases are believed to be genetic in nature, roughly about 1/5th of all ADHD cases are thought to be acquired after conception due to brain injury caused by either toxins or physical trauma pre- or post-natally. Certain areas of the brain have been found to be comparatively smaller in children with ADHD. Certain chemical changes in the brain have also been detected in children with ADHD.
RISK FACTORS FOR DEVELOPING ADHD INCLUDE:
        •   Premature delivery
        •   Very low birth weight
        •   Injury to the brain during birth
        •   Smoking during pregnancy
      Symptoms of ADHD
ADHD is a behavioural disorder in which children act without thinking, they become hyperactive and face trouble in concentration. Their attention gets deviated very easily. Children with ADHD understand what is expected from them but are unable to focus in order to complete the task assigned to them. Such features persist for long and they impair a child's ability to function socially, academically and at home.

A noteworthy point is that children suffering from ADHD do not behave in this manner on purpose; rather they have difficulty in controlling themselves. The good news is that with proper homeopathic ADHD treatment, children can learn to successfully manage their symptoms and lead a healthy life.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can be classified into 3 basic groups:
      Inattentive type Hyperactive type
      Combined type
The INATTENTIVE TYPE of ADHD is characterized by some or all of the following features:
Inability to pay attention Easy distractibility
Difficulty in following instructions Forgetfulness in daily activities
Tendency to make careless errors in assignments
The HYPERACTIVE TYPE of ADHD is characterized by some or all of the following features:
Restless, fidgety Excessive running or climbing
Difficulty in remaining quiet and seated Difficulty in waiting for anything (impatient)
The COMBINED TYPE of ADHD is the commonest amongst the three and it is characterized by a mixed picture of the above 2 types of ADHD.
      Homeopathic Treatment for ADHD
Proper homeopathic treatment for ADHD during the early period combined with behavioural therapy can definitely help the patients to improve significantly. Homeopathy for ADHD is very effective in bringing down the hyperactivity and impulsiveness in children that has resulted due to the disease. There is also a significant improvement seen in attention span of the patient following homeopathic treatment for ADHD.
ADHD calls for constitutional approach for its management since the disorder is deep-rooted in nature. The medicines are prescribed after studying the entire case is great details and a constitutional remedy is prescribed for the patient that treats the disorder from the roots. Homeopathy is definitely suggested for all cases of ADHD.

      Introduction of Alopecia Areata(Hair Loss)
Patchy loss of hair (bald spots) is termed as Alopecia areata. There can be a single bald spot to multiple or complete loss of hair all over the body. Most often the loss of hair is on the scalp, but affection of other regions like loss of hair of the eyebrows, beard, etc. is not uncommon. Alopecia areata treatment in Homeopathy comprises of a holistic approach to the disease and heals the problem from within rather than merely symptomatically.
      Causes of Alopecia Areata(Hair Loss)
      Hereditary
      Severe illness
      High fever
      Nutritional deficiencies
      Scalp infections
      Stress
Certain drugs like cytotoxic anti-cancer drugs and strong antibiotics Hormonal changes esp. during pregnancy and also after leaving the contraceptive pill.
Certain chemicals, like those used to purify swimming pools.
Bleaching. Repeated bleaching with hydrogen peroxide can cause split ends.
Perming and dyeing. Temporary dyes are not as harmful as permanent dyes which can damage the hair shaft.
Alopecia areata treatment in Homeopathy first consists of determining the cause of hair loss, and then deciding on the course of treatment.
      Types of Alopecia Areata(Hair Loss)
        •   Alopecia areata monolocularis: In this condition there is presence of single bald spot on the scalp.
        •   Alopecia areata multilocularis: In this condition there are multiple bald spots on the scalp.
        •   Alopecia areata totalis: There is complete baldness of the scalp in this condition.
        •   Alopecia areata universalis: There is complete loss of hair all over the body.
        •   Alopecia areata barbae: The bald spots are restricted to the region of beard.
        •   Traction alopecia: Here the constant pull of the hair when they are tied tightly cause baldness along the hair line on        the scalp.
      Symptoms of Alopecia Areata(Hair Loss)
There is loss of hair from roots causing baldness. The bald spots vary in size; they could be the size of a coin to larger spots.
Homeopathic Treatment for Alopecia Areata(Hair Loss)
Alopecia areata can be effectively treated with Homeopathic medicines. Homeopathic treatment for hair loss comprises of taking oral medicines and no local applications or oils are prescribed. The medicines promote re-growth of hair and control the progress and spread of bald spots to other regions. However bald spots due to scar tissue cannot be treated as it is a dead tissue with loss of hair follicles.

As per the basic principles of Classical Homeopathy each person is prescribed an individual constitutional medicine. The medicines for homeopathic treatment for hair loss are prescribed after studying and evaluating a complete case history of the patient.

      Introduction of Ankylosing Spondylitis
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a form of chronic (long lasting) arthritis that primarily affects the spine, although other joints can become involved. This condition primarily occurs in young adults (the average age of onset normally before age 35). AS causes inflammation of the spinal joints (joints between the vertebrae) and can lead to severe, chronic pain and discomfort.

AS generally starts from the sacro-iliac joint (the joint in the lower back) and then travels upwards affecting the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine (neck). Occasionally the shoulder and hip joint is affected. It is more common in males as compared to females. The disease stops progressing after 10-15 years leaving permanent stiffness and might even give rise to deformity of the spine.

There is immense scope in Homeopathy for back pain in general and ankylosing spondylitis in particular.
      Causes of Ankylosing Spondylitis
The exact cause of Ankylosing Spondylitis is not known but most of the people affected by this disease share a common marker called HLA-B27. People who carry this marker are predisposed to develop this condition after some kind of bowel infection or urinary tract infection.
AS tends to be Hereditary in nature and Ankylosing Spondylitis treatment in Modern Medicine is prolonged and symptomatic.
      Autoimmunity.
      Symptoms of Ankylosing Spondylitis
The symptoms may be intermittent or chronic in nature.
      Lower back pain
      Stiffness in the back
Loss of flexibility of the affected part of the spine
Limitation of movement of the affected area
Pain radiating from lower back upwards
Diffuse radiating pain down one or both the legs
Chest expansion reduced in thoracic involvement
Pain and limitation of movement of shoulder and hip joint
      Joint deformities
      Fever
      Fatigue
      Weight loss
      Anemia
      Eye inflammation (Iritis)
Heart valve dysfunction (in advanced stages)
      Homeopathic Treatment for Ankylosing Spondylitis
Homeopathy has good scope in the treatment of Ankylosing Spondylitis especially in cases where the pathology has not advanced too far. Homeopathic treatment for Ankylosing Spondylitis provides the patient with significant relief in the pain and stiffness associated with the disease. There is also improvement in the general symptoms associated with AS such as weakness, loss of appetite, fever, etc.

Continued Ankylosing Spondylitis treatment can also help in delaying the onset of complications. In advanced cases where structural changes in the joints have progressed, the medicines can offer significant pain control. Overall, the cases of AS respond well to Homeopathic medication and is definitely recommended for all cases of Ankylosing Spondylitis.
  • Anxiety Disorders
    • Disease Condition of Anxiety Disorders
      Introduction
      Causes

      Homeopathic Treatment

      Introduction of Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety is defined as intense apprehension that may or may not have an obvious reason. Anxiety is a part of life and it is a normal reaction to stress. It is not abnormal to feel anxious before an exam/interview, etc. The reaction is momentary and passes off once the event is over. But when the feeling persists and does not go away worsening over a period of time making it difficult to cope with normal, everyday life, then it is considered as a disorder.

Characteristically the person feels a complex combination of emotions like worry, fear, apprehension, etc. associated with physical symptoms like chest pain, palpitations, excessive perspiration, tightness in chest, headache, etc.

Effective and new ways of anxiety disorders treatment are available for such patients and it is important to manage the conditions as soon as possible so that the person can live a healthy and productive life.
      Causes of Anxiety Disorders
Studies have shown that genetic predisposition and family history play an important role; they make a person more susceptible to them.
Experiences in childhood like poor bonding between parents or abrupt separation of a child from a parent have shown to play a part in certain anxiety disorders.
An anxiety disorder may also develop following a stressful event in life, such as death of a close relative, disappointment in Love, failure in Exam, stressful working environment, position beyond the capacity to manage, difference of opinion, etc.
A person suffering from low self-esteem is more likely to suffer from agoraphobia and social phobias.
      Types of Anxiety Disorders
      1 Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Here the person worries excessively about routine day to day problems even though there may be nothing or very little to provoke it, and for no apparent reason they cannot get control of this apprehension. GAD is diagnosed when a person continuously keeps worrying for at least 6 months about daily activities.
      2 Panic Disorder
Panic attacks usually come on suddenly and peak about in 10 minutes. The person gets palpitation, intense anxiety, fear, perspiration, giddiness, weakness, faintness, etc. The attacks are beyond one's control and the person is not able to predict when the next attack will come and this makes him more worried; anticipating the next attack. Panic disorder is often accompanied by other ailments like depression, substances abuse, etc.
      3 Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
In persons suffering from OCD they have persistent, distressing thoughts and to overcome this state of anxiety they take help of rituals which they repeat time and again. Healthy people too have rituals. E.g. It is normal to check locks while going to sleep at night or before leaving for vacation to prevent burglary. In people suffering from OCD the anxiety becomes an obsession and the rituals become compulsive. They may become so frequent that they interfere with the normal day to day activities.
4 Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
This condition develops after an ordeal involving physical harm or threatening harm to oneself, loved ones or may have been witness to such an event involving loved ones. The symptoms start to develop after about 3 months of the event or one may experience these symptoms years after the event.

The person suffering from PTSD may lose interest and become indifferent or emotionally numb towards people. There have been instances where the person has become irritable and even violent. The person tends to avoid situation, places, etc which remind him of the original events.

People having PTSD tend to relive the traumatic events in their thoughts and dreams, these are known as Flashbacks. They can be triggered by events, sounds, smell, people, etc. similar to those associated with the actual event.
      5 Phobias Specific phobias
It is an unnatural and intense fear of something particular that has no actual or little danger to the person. Some of the commonly found phobias are flying in an aeroplane, water, dogs, blood and injury, heights, etc.

      Complex phobias

Here there is presence of a number of component fears as seen in agoraphobia and social phobia.

In agoraphobia, there is anxiety while riding on public transportation, using elevators or visiting crowded stores. In social phobia, people have an overwhelming fear of embarrassing themselves in public.
      Homeopathic Treatment for Anxiety Disorders
Homeopathy considers anxiety disorders as a constitutional disorder and treats it accordingly. The role of genetics and family traits are considered before prescribing the medicines. It studies the person as a whole and evaluates these symptoms before prescribing an individualistic Homeopathic medicine.

The medicines have a positive influence on the psyche and thinking process of a patient and this helps him to cope better with day to day stresses of life and live a better and healthier life.

Homeopathy ably aided by other supportive therapies and self help can give lasting relief to the patients. The medicines of Homeopathy for Anxiety give relief in all its stages of acute as well as chronic conditions. The relief offered is lasting and helps to prevent and control severity and recurrence of anxiety disorders.

The main benefits of homeopathic treatment for Anxiety are manifold they are effective, safe, and non habit forming, unlike conventional drugs. The frequency and the intensity of the Anxiety Episodes will keep on decreasing as the treatment progresses and finally the person is able to the same circumstances / environment without producing any disturbance / disorder / disease.

      Introduction of Arthritis(Joint Pain)
Arthritis is an inflammation of a single or multiple joints and it can occur due to varied number of reasons. It is not a single disease. There are over 100 types of arthritis and related conditions and some of these are very common. Men, women, children and people of all racial and ethnic groups are affected by arthritis.

Joint pain treatment with Homeopathy entails a complete case history taking and giving a holistic treatment for a lasting and permanent relief.
      Causes of Arthritis(Joint Pain)
Scientists have not yet fully understood what exactly causes the various forms of arthritis. They are studying risk factors to determine why some people develop the disease and others do not. However some of the common causes associated with the different types of arthritis have been given below:
      Causes of Rheumatoid Arthritis:
      Autoimmune disorder
Tends to be genetic in nature
      Causes of Infectious Arthritis:
      Bacteria or virus
The infection of the joint usually follows another disease such as a staphylococcal infection, tuberculosis, gonorrhoea or Lyme's disease
      Causes of Osteoarthritis:
      Aging
Wear and tear of body's load-bearing joints, often as a result of intense athletic activity
Misuse of anabolic steroids, especially in athletes
Genetic predisposition to degenerative bone disorders
Other predisposing factors for developing Arthritis
      Rheumatic fever
      Gout
      Psoriasis
      Intestinal diseases like Crohn's disease
      Heredity
      Obesity
      Injury
      Stress
      Types of Arthritis(Joint Pain)
Following are few of the most common types of Arthritis:
      Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA):
RA tends to affect people over 40 years of age and is 2-3 times more common in women than men. It may occur in children, particularly between 2-5 years of age. RA is characterized by inflammation and pain in the small joints of the hands as well as in the wrists, elbows, shoulders, ankles, knees and the small joints of the feet. RA is frequently accompanied by general fatigue and sleeplessness. It can also cause systemic changes in other parts of the body like the heart, lungs, eyes, nerves and muscles. The discomfort of RA develops over weeks and months and tends to be chronic in nature. The pain is usually most severe on awakening in the morning. In women, the pains may be aggravated during the menstrual period. In older people, it may eventually cause the hands and feet to become deformed as the muscles weaken, tendons shrink and ends of bones become abnormally enlarged. Symptoms usually last for 5 years or more and then stabilize or decline. With early treatment, the likelihood of permanent disability can be reduced in some sufferers.
Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis or Still's disease:
Rheumatoid Arthritis affecting children is known as Still's disease or Juvenile RA. This is characterized by chronic fever and anaemia. This disease can also have secondary effects on the heart, lungs, eyes and nervous system. Arthritic episodes in children younger than five can last for several weeks and may recur, although the symptoms tend to be less severe in recurrent attacks. Treatment is inclusive of physical therapy and exercises to keep the growing bodies active. Permanent damage from this disease is rare and most affected children recover from the disease fully without experiencing any disabilities.
      Infectious arthritis:
In this type of arthritis, the larger joints of the upper and lower limbs as well as the joints of fingers and toes are affected. Infection usually occurs as a complication following injury or another disease. Infectious arthritis is less common than arthritic conditions that come on with age. Because the symptoms may be masked by primary injury or illness, infectious arthritis may go unnoticed and if left untreated, can result in permanent disability.
      Osteoarthritis:
It is a degenerative type of arthritis where pain and inflammation of the joints results from systematic loss of bone tissue in the joints. It is the most common form of arthritis, particularly in the elderly. It affects the load-bearing joints like hips, knees and spine. In osteoarthritis, the protective cartilage at the ends of bones in joints gradually wears away. The inner bone surfaces become exposed and rub together. The cartilage and bone cannot repair themselves sufficiently to keep up with the damage. In some cases, bony spurs may develop at the edges of joints causing damage to muscles and nerves, pain, deformity and difficulty in movement. In many people, the onset of osteoarthritis is gradual and has no serious debilitating effects, though it can change the shape and size of bones. In other people, bony growths and deformed joints may cause painful muscle inflammation or nerve damage, along with significant changes in posture and mobility.
      Symptoms of Arthritis(Joint Pain)
Gradual pain and progressive stiffness without any noticeable swelling, chills or fever during normal activities- these are an indication of Onset of Osteoarthritis.

Painful swelling, inflammation and stiffness in the joints of the upper and lower limbs, wrists, elbows, ankles, small joints of fingers or toes; pain that is worse especially in the morning on awakening (morning stiffness)- these are indicative of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

If there is fever, joint inflammation, tenderness and sharp pains, sometimes accompanied by chills and associated with an injury or another illness, it indicates Infectious Arthritis.

In children, intermittent fever, loss of appetite, weight loss, anaemia or blotchy rash on arms and legs may indicate Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Other associated symptoms may be seen such as swelling, pain, a general feeling of stiffness and restricted movements especially in the morning, red shiny skin over the joints, deformity of the joint, numbness, loss of appetite, low grade fever and a general sense of being unwell.
      Homeopathic Treatment for Arthritis(Joint Pain)
Homoeopathy considers arthritis as a constitutional problem and treats it accordingly. The scope of improvement with Homeopathic treatment for Arthritis of various kinds varies somewhat but overall the scope is very good. RA cases (in adults and children) respond well to treatment especially in the early stages. The medicines can reduce the frequency, duration and severity of the attacks and can delay the onset of complications. In advanced stages where deformities of the joints have occurred, Homeopathy can help to ease the pain.

In cases of Osteoarthritis, the disease progress can be slowed down and significant pain relief can be achieved. Infectious arthritis can be treated well with homeopathy and the medicines help to control the infection as well prevent the complications of the disease.

Overall the scope of Homeopathy for Arthritis is good and it is definitely suggested in all cases of arthritis.

      Introduction of Asthma
Constriction of the airway and increased mucosal discharge due to an altered allergic response causes obstruction of airflow leading to laboured breathing this is known as Asthma. It is a very common disorder affecting children (Asthmatic Bronchitis) more than adults. An episode of Asthmatic attack may be mild and pass away quickly or at times may be severe and lasting longer requiring immediate medical help.

The conventional allopathic mode of Asthma treatment includes administration of inhalers as well as oral tablets to relieve the bronchial spasms as well as control their hypersensitive response. On the other hand, the medicines in Homeopathy for Asthma are highly individualized and based on a holistic case history of the patient.
      Causes of Asthma
      Causes of Rheumatoid Arthritis:
      Genetic/Hereditary and familial tendency
Allergens like pollen and molds from grass, flowers and trees
Environmental factors exposure to smoke, dust, pollution, petrol fumes, exposure to chemicals, strong perfumes, paints, varnishes, etc
      Mental stress
Infection of the lung, which can be bacterial, viral predisposes to asthma.
History of other allergic disorders or Asthma in parents
Childhood history of recurrent allergic respiratory infections is found in most asthmatic patients.
Depending on his susceptibility, various factors work as triggers in inducing an asthmatic attack. Some common triggering factors are as given below:
Emotional stress is a known trigger factor for an asthmatic attack.
      Over strenuous exercise
      Inhalation of cold air
Climatic changes are also trigger factors as are certain drugs like aspirin, etc.
      Symptoms of Asthma
All Asthma attacks may not have these symptoms & intensity and both vary from person to person.
Coughing: There may be cough, sometimes with phlegm. It is often worse at night or early in the morning thus making it difficult to sleep.
Wheezing: A whistling sound produced due to air passing through constricted air ways.
Chest tightness: Sensation as if something is squeezing the chest.
Shortness of breath: Mild to moderate shortness of breath and shortness and rapid breathing follow with a feeling of Anxiety, Sweating, etc.
The person is unable to lie down on the back. Usually the sufferer finds comfort in sitting bent forwards and near the windows.
      Homeopathic Treatment for Asthma
Asthma in all age groups can be effectively treated with Homeopathic medicines. Homeopathic medicines act at the deeper immune level. The allergic nature, genetic predisposition, stress and all other factors are taken into consideration before prescribing an individualized constitutional medicine. The effective result being the medicines give relief from the existing symptoms like breathlessness, wheezing, cough, etc. The intensity, duration, and recurrence of the Asthmatic attacks can be controlled with Homeopathic medicines.

Medicines given for homeopathic treatment of Asthma are not habit forming unlike steroids and bronchodilators. They can be used along with conventional medicines and help to overcome the dependence on steroids and bronchodilators.

      Impaired social interaction
Problems in verbal and non-verbal communication
Display of repetitive behaviour and restricted interests
Autism along with four other - Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD) is included in a group of disorders termed as neurodevelopment disorders.
Autistic children do not follow a typical pattern of normal development, some of the milestones are delayed or they develop very late. In some children, the problems are more noticeable when the child lacks behind other children of same age. Some children start off very well, but between 18-36 months of age, they suddenly stop talking, communicating, act strangely and reject people.
      Causes of Autism
The exact cause of Autism has not been fully understood and there are numerous theories suggesting various causes. There are likely to be multiple causes that interact with each other to result in Autism. Probable causes of Autism are:

However, all autistic individuals have problems in three areas- social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviour with restricted interests.
      Impaired social interaction:
Lacking awareness of presence of others & unaware of their feelings
Expressions of emotions- pleasure, crying, laughing are not obvious
Attacking and injuring others without provocation
Does not like to be cuddled or to cuddle others. Prefers to be alone
Difficulty in communicating with others and making friends
Not responding to voice, behaves as if deaf
Abnormal response to various senses- hearing, sight, touch, smell, taste, reaction to pain
      Impaired communication:
Delay or lack of development of speech. If speech develops, it is abnormal
Difficulty in verbal and nonverbal expressions
Repeat words and sentences told to them (Echolalia)
        Little or No eye contact
Poor or No facial expressions and gestures
The IQ (intelligent quotient) is below average
      Repetitive behaviour and restricted interest:
Confusion of words "I" and "YOU"
Resistant to change, wants sameness like following same route to school
Repetitive body movements like flapping hands, rocking, banging the head or walking on toes
Repetitive movements or plays spinning wheels, turning lights on and off
        Aggressive and self injurious behaviour
        Throwing or hitting tantrums
        Under-activity or hyperactivity
        Obsessive attachment to certain objects
Their voice fails to reflect their feeling- either it is high pitched, or they talk in singing tone or it is flat robot like voice
        No fear of real dangers
Desire to keep things in a certain order
      Neurological functions:
        Seizures- 20-35% of autistic children
        Mental retardation.
      Homeopathic Treatment for Autism
Homeopathic treatment for Autism offers a strategically planned approach that incorporates medicines in addition to Behavioural therapy, Communication therapy and diet modification. It must be remembered that all these go hand in hand in helping an autistic child. The Homeopathic approach to treating Autistic disorder is holistic in nature i.e. all cases of Autism are treated based on individual presentation. The remedy thus selected is called 'Constitutional remedy' and it helps in treating Autism with good results.

With continued treatment over a period of time, there is a gradual improvement seen in the patient's behaviour- the children show improved social interaction, their verbal and non-verbal communication also improves over a period of time and repetitive behaviour reduces slowly. Overall, good changes can be seen in children who are given proper treatment with Homeopathy for Autism as compared to those who are not given any therapy.

      Introduction of Backache(Back Pain)
Backache is a common terminology for pain in the back that may arise from the spine, muscles, nerves or other structures in the back. The pain can occur anywhere from the base of the neck to the hips. It is the second most common problem (after Colds and Flu) for which people seek treatment.

Backaches most commonly affect the Cervical (neck) and Lumbar (lower back) regions of the spine since these regions possess the greatest freedom of movements and hence are frequently subjected to injuries.
      Causes of Backache(Back Pain)
With the advent of motor vehicles and changing work habits, most of the day-to-day activities are done sitting down as compared to walking or standing. This affects human physiology negatively as the upright posture is designed for walking. People who walk a lot or do physical labour develop good muscle tone in their back and legs. People who sit most of the day loose that muscle tone and their back is the first place to show it.
Few of the common causes of backache have been listed below:
Postural- due to odd postures for a prolonged period
      Injury
      Muscle spasms
      Exertion
      Ruptured or herniated intervertebral disc
      Degeneration of the intervertebral disc
Spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal)
      Vertebral fractures
      Obesity
      Some diseases like Pott's spine
Change in the curvature of the spine at different levels (like scoliosis or kyphosis)
Small fractures to the spine from osteoporosis
Tumours of the spinal cord (rare)
      Pregnancy
Backache may also result from organs in the pelvis or elsewhere:
      Bladder infection
      Kidney stone
      Cytomegalovirus
      Ovarian cancer
      Ovarian cysts
      Testicular torsion (twisted testicle)
A person will be at increased risk for backache if he:
Lifts heavy weights regularly, bends a lot, or remains in abnormal postures for long
      Is obese
      Does not exercise
      Smokes
      Has arthritis
      Is depressed or stressed
      Has a low pain threshold
      Symptoms of Backache(Back Pain)
Local pain in a particular area of the back or in the entire back
The pain may be dull aching, burning, sharp radiating, etc
Pain may be continuous or intermittent
Pain may remain localized or radiate to other areas of the back or to the arms, legs
      Stiffness
      Painful restriction of movements
In systemic diseases, there can be permanent curvature deformities
Tingling or numbness in the limbs
Pain may be worse after sitting or standing for extended periods and on initiating movements
      Homeopathic Treatment for Backache(Back Pain)
Homoeopathy considers backache as a constitutional problem and treats it accordingly. Homeopathy for back pain is especially required in cases where the backache is worsened by prolonged tension and stress. In cases where abnormal postures, injury, exertion or muscle spasms has caused the backache, Homeopathy has wonderful results to offer to the patient.

Also in cases of problems with the intervertebral disc, Homeopathy can offer significant relief to the patient and the back pain treatment can also be combined with Conventional treatment. Backaches during pregnancy also respond very well to homeopathic remedies. In cases where pathological changes in the back are advanced, Homeopathy can play a palliative role and can relieve the pains associated with the disease. The exact scope of homeopathic treatment for back pain however can be determined only after detailed evaluation of every individual case.

The ancillary measures like Exercise, Physiotherapy, Correction of Postures helps the system to recover much faster.

Inflammation of the air ways (Bronchi) is known as Bronchitis. It is characterized by persistent cough which could be dry or productive. Other symptoms are breathlessness, pain in chest, and fever in some cases.

There are two types of Bronchitis- Acute and Chronic.
      Acute Bronchitis
It is an acute inflammation of the mucous membranes of air passages or air tubes (trachea and bronchi) caused by bacteria, viruses or external irritants.
      Causation of Acute Bronchitis
It is caused by viruses and pyogenic organisms such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Hemophilus influenzae and rarely Staphylococcus aureus. Bacterial infection is a common sequel to coryza, influenza, measles and whooping cough. Other predisposing factors are cold, damp and dusty atmosphere and cigarette smoking.
Signs and Symptoms of Acute Bronchitis
First symptom is an irritating unproductive cough accompanied by retrosternal discomfort or pain as a result of tracheitis.
Sensation of tightness in the chest, paroxysms of difficulty in breathing, particularly following spells of coughing and is relieved with expectoration.
Dyspnoea with wheeze may be present.
Sputum is initially scanty and hard to expectorate and sometimes may be blood-streaked.
Later sputum is mucopurulent and more copious.
      Fever
      Chronic Bronchitis
It is a name given to a clinical syndrome which develops as a result of long continued action of irritants on the bronchial mucosa.
      Causation of Chronic Bronchitis
      Tobacco smoke.
Dust, smoke and fumes occurring as occupational hazards.
Atmospheric pollution in industrial towns and cities.
Exposure to dampness and sudden changes in temperature and fog.
More common in smokers and males. Mostly occurs in middle age adults.
Pathogens- Streptococcus pneumoniae and / or Hemophilus influenzae.

Signs and Symptoms of Chronic Bronchitis
Usually there are repeated attacks of winter cough which show a steady increase in severity and intensity with successive years until cough is present throughout the year.
Wheeze, dyspnoea and tightness of chest in the morning, before expectoration of bronchial secretions are cleared.
Sputum is scanty, tenacious and occasionally streaked with blood.
Purulent sputum is indicative of bacterial infection.
      Homeopathic Treatment for Bronchitis
There is immense scope in Homeopathy for Bronchitis of all age groups. The medicines help in faster recovery from episodes of cough, wheezing and fever. Homeopathic treatment for Bronchitis over a period of time controls the intensity, duration and recurrence of the disease.

Homeopathic Bronchitis treatment with the constitutional medicine improves immunity and overall health of the individual whereby the person is able to live a healthier life.

      Introduction
      Causation

      Homeopathic Treatment
      Introduction of Cancer
Cancer, in simple terms, means an abnormal and uncontrolled growth of cells in the body. This growth initially remains localized to one area of the body but can later spread to nearby regions and distant locations in the body as well. During the process of growth of cancerous tissue, the normal tissues of the body are destroyed and their functioning is affected. Cancer is not a single disease and there more than 100 types of cancers. It is the second commonest cause of death in the world.
      Causation of Cancer
Cancer is caused by a mutation in the DNA of the cells of the body. DNA of the cells is like an informative set of instructions about growth and division. A mutation is a damaging change that has occurred in the DNA. When the DNA gets mutated (damaged), the cells have no proper instructions on how to grow and divide, so they start growing haphazardly and start multiplying in a chaotic manner. This process is called Cancer.
Exactly why this mutation occurs is still not known but there are various factors contributing or predisposing to it:
      Cigarette smoking- lung cancer
      Tobacco chewing- oral cancer
      Excessive consumption of alcohol
Use of contraception and excess sexual freedom- cervical & uterine cancer
      Sexually transmitted diseases
      Exposure to radiations
      Obesity
Age, influence of the environment or social factors contribute to the disease
      Family history of cancers
A hypothesis also holds that some viruses may act as the co-factor in some malignancies
      Signs and Symptoms of Cancer
Many a times there is no sign or symptom especially in the early stages
Painless swelling in the breast or muscle
Intracranial space occupying lesions can present with fits, severe headaches, vomiting, papilloedema
      Abdominal lesions can cause constipation
Bronchial lesions present with cough & shortness of breath
      Haemorrhage from various orifices
Pain either due to nerve compression or distension of an organ
There can be deep bone pains or referred pains
Loss of taste hence low intake of food can cause severe weakness.
In terminal cases depression, loneliness & irritability
      Homeopathic Treatment for Cancer
Cancer treatment with Homeopathy has an important role to play and this varies from case to case. It can become a very useful tool if rightly combined with the conventional treatment for cancer. Homeopathy for Cancer can significantly help in many cases as far as pain control is concerned. It can improve the vitality of the patient and general sense of well-being, which is often lost in most cases of cancer. Homoeopathy can also improve symptoms like anorexia, nausea, weakness, fatigue, etc.

Another important aspect of Homeopathic treatment for Cancer is that it can help to reduce the associated anxiety and panic. Depression, loneliness, hopelessness, despair are few common mental symptoms associated with cancer and these can be helped with Homeopathic treatment. The medicines can also help in reducing the side-effects of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc. wherever applicable. Up to a certain extent, Homeopathy in Cancer treatment may also help in slowing down the progress of the illness.

      Introduction of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a set of symptoms that occur when a particular nerve (Median nerve) gets compressed at the wrist. This condition is grouped under 'Entrapment Neuropathies' since the nerve gets 'trapped' in a tunnel-like space of the wrist which is called 'Carpal Tunnel'. The Median nerve is responsible for sensations on the palmer aspect of the thumb and fingers as well as movements of some of the small muscles of the hand. Due to pressure of the surrounding vessels and tendons on the median nerve, it starts producing abnormal sensations and pain in the areas that are supplied by it.
      Causes of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
As mentioned earlier, the primary cause of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the compression of the Median nerve at the wrist. The increased pressure on the nerve may be due to any one the following reasons:
      Congenitally smaller Carpal Tunnel
Trauma/ injury to the wrist resulting in swelling of the wrist tissues
      Hyperactivity of the pituitary gland
      Hypothyroidism
      Rheumatoid arthritis
Mechanical problems in the wrist joint
      Stress
Constant and repeated use of vibrating hand tools
Fluid retention (during pregnancy, menopause, etc)
Cyst or tumour development within the Carpal Tunnel
      Symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Some of the common symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome are as follows:
Gradual onset in most cases with involvement of palmer aspect of thumb, index and middle fingers
Burning sensation, tingling, numbness, discomfort in above mentioned areas
There may be a sensation as if fingers are swollen even though there is no perceptible swelling on examination
Symptoms usually appear during night time in the initial stages
Sharp shooting pains in the forearmSharp shooting pains in the forearm
      Grip power may be reduced
There may be wasting of muscles in the affected region in the advanced stages
Some patients may be unable to tell difference between warmth and cool sensations (using the affected fingers)
Homeopathic Treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Homeopathy has good scope in the treatment of Carpal Tunnel syndrome. The medicines can effectively control the discomfort, tingling, numbness, pain associated with this condition.

It must be kept in mind that targeting the cause during homeopathic treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is very essential, for e.g., if the condition has occurred due to generalised water retention in the body (from any cause), the underlying condition also has to be treated else the tissue swelling in the wrist will not subside.

In cases where an inherently narrow Carpal tunnel is the cause of the pain, Homeopathy can offer pain relief but will not increase the size of the canal; however, homeopathic Carpal Tunnel Syndrome treatment may delay or avoid the need for surgery in such cases.

    • Disease Condition of Cerebral Palsy
      Introduction

      Introduction of Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral Palsy, also known as Little's disease or Static Encephalopathy, is a disease of the motor area of the brain wherein, due to a developmental fault or damage, the brain's ability to control body's movements and posture is lost.

Cerebral palsy usually occurs as a result of events that occur before or during childbirth, but it may also be acquired during the first few months or years of life as a result of head trauma or infection.
      Causes of Cerebral Palsy
Injury to the brain before, during or just after birth, may result in Cerebral Palsy. The predisposing conditions include:
Mother having any of the following conditions during pregnancy:
Infection- Rubella (German measles), Toxoplasmosis, Cytomegalovirus and HIV
      Accident
      High blood pressure
      Diabetes
      Congenital malformation of brain
      Rh incompatibility
      Abuse of alcohol
      Cigarette smoking
      Malnutrition
      Use of drugs - Cocaine

Occurrence of any of the following activities during birth:
      Forceps delivery
      Difficult delivery
      Prolonged labor
      Asphyxia during birth
      Umbilical cord around the neck
Occurrence of any of the following conditions after birth:
      Infection
      Accidents- head injury
      Jaundice
      Intraventricular hemorrhages
      Intracranial hemorrhages
      Seizures
The following reasons can be at high risk for developing cerebral palsy:
      Low birth weight babies
Babies who do not cry for first 5 minutes after birth
Babies who need to be on ventilator for more than 4 weeks
      Babies with Seizures
Signs and Symptoms of Cerebral Palsy
      Delayed milestones
Difficulty in talking, walking, playing or eating normally
      Difficult movements
      Abnormal movements
      Muscle tightness or spasms
      Involuntary movements
Difficulty with gross motor skills- walking or running
Difficulty with fine motor skills- writing or using scissors or doing up buttons
      Difficulty in perception and sensation
An important point worth noting is that Cerebral Palsy is
      Not Contagious
      Not Hereditary
      Not Progressive
      Not life threatening
      Homeopathic Treatment for Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral Palsy is non-progressive in nature but secondary orthopaedic deformities are common e.g. scoliosis of the spine, dislocation of hip, etc. In order to prevent these and to make daily routine more manageable for patients, timely Cerebral Palsy treatment is very essential. The treatment includes combination of Homeopathic medicines along with supportive treatments such as:
Physical therapy to prevent muscle weakness, atrophy and contracture
      Speech therapy
Behavioural therapy to overcome various deficits and encourage the child to learn to use weak limbs
Homeopathic treatment for Cerebral Palsy helps in improving muscle tone in the paretic limbs slowly over a period of time. In case of spastic limbs, the medication can help in reducing the spasticity and can thus prevent joint dislocations. The involuntary movements can also reduce with continued medication. Overall, Cerebral Palsy treatment in Homeopathy will result in positive changes in the patient; hence Homeopathy is definitely suggested for all cases of Cerebral Palsy.

      Introduction of Common Cold
This is the most common infection that is caused due to a virus and is highly contagious. Common cold is one of the commonest afflictions of humans and account for the maximum cases of absenteeism from work. Common colds are predominantly viral in nature and there are more than 200 types of viruses that can cause it.

Although everyone catches cold, children suffer from them more frequently than adults. Cold infections are more common during the cold season. Cold weather and changing temperature can predispose to cold. Cold itself are not dangerous (except in newborns) but they wear down the body's resistance, making the person more susceptible to a bacterial infection.
      Causes of Common Cold
Colds can be caused by more than 200 viruses. Mode of transmission of infection can be through:
      Personal contact with infected people
Infection due to inhalation of droplets from infected people through cough and sneeze
Touching the hands of an infected person and then touching your eyes or nose with the same hands
Touching a virus-infected surface, such as a doorknob or a telephone, and then transferring the germs to the nose or mouth

People who are at risk of infection:
Children attending school or day care
Parents of the children attending school
      Large families
      Unhygienic family practices
People with a low resistance due to fatigue, exhaustion, loss of sleep, stress, depression
      Symptoms of Common Cold
General lack of sense of well-being followed by a burning sensation in nose and eyes with discomfort
Sneezing, nose block, clear nasal discharge, low grade fever, chilliness, headache
Hoarseness, sore throat, dry cough that may occur only at night and a thick, greenish yellow, cloudy discharge from the nose.
Reduced sense of taste and smell
      Loss of appetite
      Lack of energy, constant fatigue
      Muscle and bone pains
      Homeopathic Treatment for Common Cold
There are safe and effective medicines in Homeopathy for common cold and are very beneficial for short-term as well as long-term management of the complaints. There is significant improvement in the acute attacks as well as in the frequency and severity of attacks with continued treatment. There is noticeable improvement in the overall immunity of the patient as well. Since the common cold treatment is targeted towards the roots of the illness, the recovery is more lasting.

Homeopathic treatment for common cold works at the immune level whereby enhancement of immunity prevents viral colds. The Homeopathic medicine is believed to address the genetic predisposition and enhance the resistance, thus making the patient less susceptible to the allergens, infections and the environmental changes.

      Introduction of Corns & Calluses
Repetitive exposure of the skin to forces like friction and pressure gives rise to protective thickening of skin known as Callus (Tyloma). Most often callus occurs on the feet, hands, and any other part of the skin where constant friction is present.

Due to constant pressure on a particular spot a callus develops a mass of dead cells in its center; then it is known as a Corn (Heloma). Corns usually occur on the toes and balls of the feet. Both the above conditions can be relieved by removing the source of friction and pressure. However it does not remain just a cosmetic problem when they become painful and sometimes infected. Recurrence is also a common problem associated with these conditions.
      Causes of Corns & Calluses
      Ill fitting shoes
Constant pressure on the foot can be result of shoes or footwear that are too tight or those that having high heels. If the shoes are loose then the foot may frequently rub against the edges and sides. Often wrongly placed seams and stitches can result in friction and/or pressure.
      Not wearing socks
Wearing shoes and other footwear without socks cause constant friction between the shoe and foot. Ill fitting socks and socks with seams at the toes can also be a problem.
      Manual labour
Frequently using hand held tools for various activities at job and at home can be a source of constant pressure and friction.
      Body structure
Bony prominences, bursa, faulty gait (walking style), bunion, foot deformities, etc. all may result in friction and pressure on the foot.
      Hereditary
In case of a child suffering from callus with no other clear source of pressure, it is probably a genetically determined hereditary callus.
Symptoms and Signs of Corns & Calluses
      Corns:
Skin may be dry, waxy, transparent or a horny mass
      The lesion has distinct borders
      May be hard or soft
      Usually painful

      Calluses:
Skin is thick without distinct borders
Colour varies from white to gray-yellow, brown, or red
      Often painless or tender
May throb or burn when infected
Homeopathic Treatment for Corns & Calluses
Homeopathy has good scope in the treatment of Corns and Calluses. The medication can help in reducing the corns over a period of time and also reduce the pain associated with the condition. It is important to note that removal of the causative factor is very essential in homeopathic treatment for corns.

E.g. If the corn has been caused due to ill-fitting shoes, the patient must change the footwear so as to remove the causative factor.

Some people have an inherent tendency to develop corns and calluses and Homeopathy targets this tendency and strives to remove it from the roots. Homeopathy is strongly suggested for all cases of Corns treatment and Calluses treatment.

Normally, when treated with Homeopathy, the tendency to get repeated Corns also reduces to great extent.

Clinical depression is a state of intense unhappiness (sadness/melancholy). The feeling is so severe that it starts affecting the person's day to day life. It disrupts his personal, social and professional life.

Commonly people associate depression with feeling sad for no reason or lack of motivation. Clinical depression is much more serious and leads to constant negative feeling and also sometimes substance abuse.

About 18% of population suffer from clinical depression at least once in their life before the age of 40. It is more common in women than men, however the difference is fast shrinking. According to WHO (World Health Organization) clinical depression is expected to become the second largest cause of disability worldwide after heart diseases by the year 2020.
      Causes of Depression
Research has shown that tendency to develop depression could be hereditary and run in families.

Organic brain damage caused by degenerative conditions such as Parkinson disease, Multiple Sclerosis or by traumatic blunt force injury may contribute to depression,
Prescription drugs such as hormonal contraception methods and steroids
Reduced levels of omega-3 fatty acids in intensively farmed food and processed foods.
Alcohol and other drugs: Alcohol can have a negative effect on mood, and misuse of alcohol, benzodiazepine-based tranquilizers, and sleeping medications can all play a major role in the length and severity of depression
Postpartum depression: 10-15% of women experience a disabling and persistent form of mood disturbance like postpartum depression.
Sociopsychological causes: Low self esteem, altered perceptions about one's own state and capabilities.
Past unhappy experiences such as death of a parent, rejection, neglect, chronic illness, and physical, psychological, or sexual abuse can also increase the likelihood of depression later in life.
Life experiences like loss of job, financial difficulties, divorce, stress at work, etc. may lead to depression.
      Symptoms of Depression
The person suffering from Depression experiences the following symptoms:
      Depressed mood
Anhedonia or inability to experience pleasure from normally pleasurable life events such as social interactions, eating, etc.

      Loss of appetite
      Irritability
      Disturbed sleep nightmares
Learning or memory problems which were not existent previously
Significant behavioural changes like aggression, withdrawal, etc

      Primary Dysmenorrhoea
      Symptoms of Primary Dysmenorrhoea
      Secondary Dysmenorrhoea
      Symptoms of Secondary Dysmenorrhoea
      Homeopathic Treatment
      Introduction of Dysmenorrhea
Painful menstruation is termed as Dysmenorrhoea. Some amount of pain during menses is normal but excess pain is not, especially when it incapacitates the patient. Approximately 50% of menstruating women are affected by Dysmenorrhoea and about 10% are incapacitated for up to 3 days.

The factor that is most likely to be the cause of pain is the production of excess of prostaglandins- a hormone-like substance that causes contraction of uterus during menstruation and labor. During menstruation, the uterine contractions caused by prostaglandins ensure that all the menstrual blood and endometrial tissue are expelled from the body, but excess prostaglandins can cause repeated contractions resulting in severe pain. It is common for these pains to persist throughout the reproductive years in some females but many women have found them to become milder after having a baby. Severe Dysmenorrhoea is most prevalent in young single women leading a sedentary life and treatment for menstrual cramps is what women most commonly seek.
      Types of Dysmenorrhea
There are two basic types of Dysmenorrhoea:
      1. Primary Dysmenorrhoea
      2. Secondary Dysmenorrhoea
      Primary Dysmenorrhoea:
This usually begins within the first 6-12 months after menarche. High level of Prostaglandins is the cause of Primary Dysmenorrhoea and there is no concurrent pathology of the uterus in this type. Other causes of Primary Dysmenorrhoea include:
      Early menarche
      Null parity
      Smoking
      Obesity
      Family history of dysmenorrhoea
      Symptoms of Primary Dysmenorrhoea
Pain in lower abdomen/ pelvic region
Pain generally begins with the onset of menses and lasts 8-72 hours
Low backache and medial/anterior thigh pain
      Headache
      Diarrhoea or nausea/vomiting
      Secondary Dysmenorrhoea
This usually begins when a woman is in her 20s or 30s, after years of relatively painless menstrual cycles. Presence of pelvic pathology (in addition to elevated prostaglandin levels) is the cause of Secondary dysmenorrhoea. The common causes of Secondary Dysmenorrhoea include:
      Endometriosis
      Uterine fibroids (leiomyomata)
      Adenomyosis
      Endometrial polyps
      Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease
      IUD usage
      Cervical Stenosis
      Ovarian cysts
      Endometrial carcinoma
      Symptoms of Secondary Dysmenorrhoea
Pain in lower abdomen/ pelvic region that begins before menses and generally lasts for 24 -72 hours after onset
Lower abdominal or pelvic pain during times other than menses
Pain that is not relieved by non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
Heavy menstrual flow or irregular bleeding
      Dyspareunia
      Homeopathic Treatment for Secondary Dysmenorrhoea
Dysmenorrhoea treatment in Homeopathy is followed on constitutional (holistic) lines. All the details about the patient are thoroughly evaluated in order to arrive at a constitutional remedy that treats the complaints from the roots. Homeopathic treatment for Dysmenorrhoea helps in relieving pain while taking care of the underlying pathology as well. Other complaints associated with painful menses can also be handled effectively with Homeopathic medicines. Homeopathy can help to reduce the dependency on conventional medication for pain relief.

Homeopathic Treatment
Introduction of Eczema
Eczema is a chronic inflammatory condition of the skin causing a distinctive pattern of symptoms such as redness, skin oedema, itching and dryness, sometimes there is crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing or bleeding from the lesions. It may run in families and is often associated with asthma.
Causes of Eczema
The causes of Eczema are varied and each type of eczema has its own causative and triggering factors. Broadly the causes can be divided as inherent predispositions and exogenous factors.
Genetic tendencies and family history of eczema and other allergic disorders like asthma, urticaria, food allergies, etc. predisposes the person to develop eczema.
Stress also plays an important role in precipitating eczema.
Exogenous factors include contact with irritants such solvents (soaps, detergents), rubber, metal substances (nickel), certain cloths, cosmetics, food additives (preservative, colors), topical applications, etc.
Eczematous lesions can occur after exposure to sunlight.
In babies, diaper rash or napkin eczema is possible.
Symptoms of Eczema
Intense itching
Dryness and redness of the skin with flakiness
Persistent scratching of the skin may lead to leathery appearance known as lichenification
Occasionally there may be small eruptions and blisters that ooze fluid
Types of Eczema
Atopic Dermatitis:

It is one of the commonest forms of eczema, mostly affecting the infants and children. It is believed to have a genetic predisposition and found in children whose family members have history of Hay Fever or Asthma. The lesions are characteristically found on the scalp, face, neck, elbows, behind knees, and buttocks.

Contact Dermatitis:

There are two types of contact dermatitis. The cause can be individualistic depending upon each person's sensitivities. E.g. after coming in contact with metals (nickel, poison ivy, solvents, etc.)

Allergic- It results from a delayed reaction after coming in contact with some allergen

Irritant - It results form an immediate reaction after coming in contact with an allergen

Xerotic Eczema:

It is caused by excessive dryness of the skin. The skin of limbs and trunk are commonly affected. The lesions are worst during winter.

Seborrhoeic Dermatitis:

There is presence of greasy scaly lesions of the scalp and eyebrows. Pimples and scales may be present adjacent to the lesions. In infants scaly, yellow crusty lesions are known as cradle cap.
Homeopathic Treatment for Eczema
The scope of Homeopathy for Eczema is immense. Homeopathy is equally effective in all forms of eczema and in all age groups. The medicines have to be taken orally and it does not involve the use of any steroids or local applications.

The classical constitutional approach addresses the issues of genetic predisposition and family tendencies and treats the disease form the roots and gives lasting relief. Homeopathic treatment for Eczema effectively influences the idiosyncrasies of the person and controls his reaction to allergens.

There will be relief in the current itching, redness and other local symptoms. The progress, spread and recurrence of the lesions will be controlled. Homeopathic medicines are safe and gentle; they can be taken by all people including infants, pregnant and lactating mothers for Eczema treatment. These medicines help to overcome dependence on antihistamines and steroids.

  • Fibroids
    • Disease Condition of Fibroids
      Introduction
      Causes
      Symptoms
      Homeopathic Treatment
      Introduction of Fibroids
Uterine fibromyoma is commonly known as fibroid of the uterus. It is a non-cancerous growth of the uterus that is common in females during child-bearing years. Technically, the correct terminology should be fibromyoma or myoma since it develops from the muscular layer of the uterus. The fibroid is basically an admixture of muscle tissue and fibrous tissue. It is not cancerous in nature.
      Causes of Fibroids
The exact cause of development of uterine fibroids is not known but following are the most likely causes as per research done in this field:
Genetic: Genetic cause is strongly suspected in the development of fibroids
It can also occur during the reproductive period due to increased blood supply to the uterus.
Estrogen and Progesterone: The female hormones Estrogen and Progesterone appear to promote the growth of the fibroids.
Risk factors for the development of fibroids include:
Heredity factor: If your mother or sisters have fibroids, you are at increased risk for developing them.
Racial factor: Black women are more prone to develop fibroids (also more in number and larger in size) as compared to white women.
      Symptoms of Fibroids
Most fibroids do not cause any symptoms, but some women may develop symptoms depending on the size, location and number of fibroids. Any of the following symptoms may be seen in such patients:
      Heavy bleeding during menses
      Painful menses
      Bleeding in between menses
Sensation of fullness in the lower abdomen
      Frequent urination
      Pain during sex
      Lower backache
      Infertility
      Repetitive miscarriages
Early onset of labor during pregnancy
      Homeopathic Treatment for Fibroids
Homeopathy has good scope in the treatment of fibroids that are small to medium sized. Homeopathic treatment for Fibroids can help in controlling their further growth and can also help in reducing the size of the existing ones. However, in large-sized lesions, Fibroid treatment may only be symptomatic and may not help to get rid of the fibroids completely. Patients generally see significant relief in most of the symptoms after starting homeopathic treatment. The medicines also help in preventing the complications of fibroids such as Anemia due to prolonged heavy bleeding, etc. Homeopathy for Fibroids is definitely suggested

      Homeopathic Treatment
      Introduction of Fissure-in-ano
A superficial tear/cut in the anoderm (specialized tissue that lines the anus and the anal canal) extending upwards from the anus is known as Fissure-in-ano. The anoderm has no hair, sweat glands or sebaceous glands, but has abundance of sensory nerve ends which can sense slightest touch and pain.

The condition constitutes about 8-17% of total number of patients seen by colonic and rectal surgeon. The disease affects equally both the sexes and all age groups, and is the commonest cause for rectal bleeding in infants. Anal fissures in children may indicate sexual abuse.
      Causes of Fissure-in-ano
Anal fissures are caused by trauma due to
      Passage of hard stool
      PChronic diarrhoea
      PHabitual use of cathartics
PAnal trauma (as in after a rectal examination using a speculum/digit or/and can occur with anal intercourse)
PAnal fissures can be seen in patients with syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases, tuberculosis, leukemia, inflammatory bowel disease, previous anal surgery, etc.
      Symptoms of Fissure-in-ano
Pain- It is generally a sharp, severe pain described as 'splinter-like' or like 'broken glass'. After passing stool, the pain generally changes to a burning type that lasts for about 15 minutes after passing stools.
Bleeding- Bright red blood may be seen oozing from the anus in drops along with stool.
Itching- In many cases, this is a common symptoms especially if there is a foul-smelling discharge also.
      Prognosis of Fissure-in-ano
Most uncomplicated fissures resolve in 2-4 weeks with supportive care.
Chronic anal fissures frequently require surgical treatment.
Prognosis for fistulas is excellent after surgery.
      Homeopathic Treatment for Fissure-in-ano
Fissure treatment in Homeopathy has moderate scope and depends on the duration and extent of the fissure. Homeopathic treatment for fissure on a regular basis sees complete healing and resolution of the tear. It is important, however, to note that certain lifestyle modifications also need to be made to prevent recurrence of this condition.

Disease Condition of Genital Herpes
Introduction
Causes
Symptoms
Homeopathic Treatment
Introduction of Genital Herpes
Genital Herpes is primarily caused by strains of the Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 (HSV 2) though some cases are also seen to be caused by HSV type 1 (through Oro-Genital contact). In any case, the features of Genital Herpes in both these types remain indistinguishable. Transmission of this virus is only through humans and no vectors are involved. Genital Herpes affects both the sexes, but females have a higher rate of complications.
Causes of Genital Herpes
As mentioned above, HSV type 2 virus is the cause of Genital Herpes in most cases. HSV type 1 can also cause genital herpes in some cases especially if orogenital contact has been the cause of infection.
Transmission of the infection occurs mainly via the following routes:
Sexually transmitted
Homosexuality
Cross-infection of type 1 and 2 viruses may occur from oral-genital contact
PAnal trauma (as in after a rectal examination using a speculum/digit or/and can occur with anal intercourse)
Neonatal infection due to contact with infected vaginal secretions at the time of vaginal delivery
It can be transmitted to the hands in health care workers, during finger-genital contact when they do not use protective gloves during examination
Infection in a child by HSV 2 may indicate 'child abuse'
Symptoms of Genital Herpes
The incubation period is 3-7 days before the following constitutional symptoms begin:
Fever, which may be high (102 -104 degrees F) and subsides after 3-5 days
Bodyache
Headache
Loss of appetite
Weight loss
Listlessness
Abrupt onset of complaints
Symptoms of the disease:
Burning or tingling sensation before genital lesions manifest
Vesicles around the vulva, vagina or cervix (female genitals) which may further progress to formation of ulcers
Ulcers called as genital sores, on the penis in males. There is soreness and burning pain that lasts for about 2-3 weeks if untreated
Vesicles on the prepuce and scrotum
Pain and difficulty in passing urine in both the sexes
Discharge from the vagina and urethra
Involvement of the perineal area and rectum in persons engaging in anal intercourse
After the acute infection subsides in about 2 weeks, the virus remains in a latent or inactive state and may become active again at a later stage. Reactivation of the virus may result in 'Recurrence' of the symptoms.
Homeopathic Treatment for Genital Herpes
The management plan in Homeopathy for genital herpes is not simply symptomatic; rather it is based on a detailed case study and endeavours to treat the disease from the root cause. Overall, the medicines improve the immunity of the individual so that he/she doesn't fall prey to recurrent infections.

Genital Herpes treatment in Homeopathy follows the Constitutional approach in which a detailed study is done. Based on the study of all these factors, a single Homeopathic remedy is selected which covers all the important features and helps in relieving the disease in that patient. Homeopathic treatment for genital herpes in genital area not only helps in alleviating the lesions, the pain and the discomfort associated with Herpes Simplex but it also helps in preventing future outbreaks of the same.

Disease Condition of Herpes Zoster
Introduction
Causes
Symptoms
Homeopathic Treatment
Introduction of Herpes Zoster
Herpes Zoster or Shingles is a common viral infection of the nerve root, caused by the Human Herpes Virus 3 (HHV 3 or Varicella-Zoster virus), the same virus causes Varicella i.e. chickenpox. In Greek language, the word 'herpes' means 'to creep' and 'zoster' means 'a belt or girdle'.

It is characterized by an outbreak of vesicular skin blisters (sores) and mild to severe neuralgia (nerve pain), generally affecting one side of the body along the nerve affected, hence the belt like appearance.
Causes of Herpes Zoster
Herpes zoster is caused by the Human Herpes Virus 3 (HHV 3 or Varicella-Zoster virus).

The varicella-zoster virus always produces chickenpox on first exposure. Though the chickenpox infection subsides, the virus is never fully cleared from the body and hibernates by remaining latent in the dorsal root ganglia, till the time when there is focal reactivation (due to certain factors) along a ganglion's distribution that results in an outbreak of herpes zoster infection.

Usually, after an attack of chickenpox, a person could get shingles when this same virus, after a long period of latency gets reactivated.

After the initial exposure, herpes zoster virus remains inactive in the nerve tissue and may get activated and re-emerges after many years, when the body's natural resistance to the virus breaks down. Although the exact mechanism of varicella-zoster reactivation is not known, it is believed that decreased cellular immunity is a major causative factor that stirs the dormant virus into activity.
Symptoms of Herpes Zoster
Local symptoms occur in fairly isolated areas of the skin, usually in a single dermatome (the area served by a single spinal nerve), on one side of the body. The rash may affect any part of the body along a single dermatome. The most commonly involved dermatomes are those of the chest spinal nerves.
The earliest symptoms include low-grade fever, headache, malaise and fatigue.
This is followed by burning, throbbing, shooting pain- mild to severe in intensity, tingling, numbness, itching and painful sensitivity along the involved dermatome.
Erythematous rash on one side of the body
Soreness and sensitivity of skin
Clusters of small vesicles/blisters in the form of a band with acute pain
The vesicles then break open, ooze and form small ulcers
These ulcers dry and crust over; usually lesions heal without a scar
Homeopathic Treatment for Herpes Zoster
The treatment approach of Homeopathy for Herpes Zoster is holistic and takes into consideration the entire disharmony experienced by the patient. The key of Herpes Zoster treatment in Homeopathy is to result in complete relief with eradication of the chances of recurrence and reactivation.

Homeopathic treatment for Herpes Zoster focuses on removal of the disease right from its roots and prevents suppression of the disease. The prognosis of Herpes Zoster with the correct homeopathic medicines ensures a healthier life for the patient without any side effects whatsoever.

Disease Condition of Kidney Stones
Introduction
Causes
Symptoms
Homeopathic Treatment
Introduction of Kidney Stones
Kidney stones are one of the most common urologic disorders and one of the most painful ones too. They are basically solidified concretions of the crystals which normally are present in the dissolved form in urine. Kidney stones are more common in middle-aged adults than in the elderly and are much more prevalent in men as compared to women.

People living in hot climates may be more prone to kidney stones because their bodies are likely to get dehydrated thus concentrating the minerals in the urine. Recurrence of kidney stones after conventional treatment or surgery is a common phenomenon.
Causes of Kidney Stones
Following are some of the common causes of Kidney stones:
Hereditary
People suffering from gout, parathyroid problems, inflammatory bowel diseases and chronic urinary tract infection are predisposed to stone formation
Increase calcium intake i.e. more than the required amount (e.g. intake of too much of chocolates, strawberries, etc)
Decrease in fluid intake may precipitate formation of stones
Prolonged bed rest
Chronic use of antacids containing calcium
Dietary deficiency of Vitamin B6 and magnesium and excessive amounts of Vitamin D
Increase in uric acid level
Hot weather leads to increased fluid output thus reducing the fluid in body and thus precipitating stone formation
Symptoms of Kidney Stones
Waves of sharp or cramping pain in the side (lumbar region) radiating down to the groin and/or abdomen
Nausea and vomiting
Profuse sweating
Red urine (blood in urine)
Blocked flow of urine
Painful or excruciating urination
In case of an infection along with the above mentioned symptoms there may be,
Fever with chills
Frequent urge to pass urine
Cloudy or foul-smelling urine
Homeopathic Treatment for Kidney Stones
There is immense scope in Homeopathy for kidney stones. In case of smaller kidney stones treatment, homeopathy can help in the expulsion of the stones within as less discomfort as possible. In cases of larger or impacted stones, surgical intervention may be necessary but even in such cases Homeopathy can help in preventing the recurrence of the stones, which is a very common phenomenon. The main advantage of homeopathic treatment for kidney stones is that it is targeted towards the underlying basic tendency to form stones. Homeopathy can also offer excellent pain control in cases where the stone had passed from the kidneys into the ureter. Homeopathy is strongly suggested for all cases of kidney stones.

It entirely depends on the size of the stone. If the stone size is too big, ideally it is advisable intervene with surgical treatment. In such circumstances, it is advisable not to wait, till it becomes too big and it gives back pressure to the kidney and causing Hydronephrosis. With long time, it can develop into Staghorn Calculi

Disease Condition of Lung Cancer
Introduction
Causes
Types
Symptoms
Homeopathic Treatment
Introduction of Lung Cancer
Malignant transformation of the Lung tissue is known as Lung cancer. It is the second commonest form of Cancer known to mankind. Lung cancer is most common form of cancer related death in men and second most common in women.

Lung cancer was extremely rare prior to the advent of cigarette smoking, but increased dramatically as over decades as tobacco smoking increased. However the incidence of lung cancer in developed countries is dropping due to public awareness.
Causes of Lung Cancer
Smoking- Smoking, particularly of cigarettes is the commonest cause of cancer of lungs. Cigarette smoke is known to contain over 60 carcinogens like radioisotopes from the radon decay sequence, nitrosamine, and benzopyrene. Plus, the action of nicotine depresses the immune response to malignant growths.
Asbestos fibbers- Asbestos workers who do not smoke have a five times greater risk of developing lung cancer than non-smokers, and those asbestos workers who smoke have a risk that is 50 to 90 times greater than non-smokers.
Radon gas - Radon gas is a natural decay product of uranium. It is invisible and odourless. Radon gas can travel up through soil and enter homes through gaps in the foundation, drains, or other openings.
Genetic predisposition- Research has shown that a localized region on the long (q) arm of the human chromosome number 6 is likely to contain a gene that conferring an increased susceptibility to the development of lung cancer in smokers.
Lung disease- History of COPD (Chronic Obstructive Lung Diseases) is associated with somewhat increased possibility of developing lung cancer.
Air pollution- Air pollution, from vehicles, industry, and power plants, can raise the likelihood of developing lung cancer in exposed individuals.
Types of Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is differentiated on the bases of the microscopic appearances of the tumour cells. Each type differs how they grow and spread.

Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC)

It is also known as oat cell carcinoma due to the shape of its cell. SCLC comprises of 20% of all lung cancer. It is strongly associated with cigarette smoking not common amongst non smokers. They tend to spread and grow fast; they metastasize rapidly within the body and are most often discovered after they have spread extensively.

Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)

NSCLC comprises about 80% of all lung cancer cases. It has three main types based on the type of cells found in its tumour.

Adenocarcinoma is commonest type of NSCLC and comprises up to 50% of NSCLC. It is also found commonly amongst non-smokers who develop lung cancer. Most often it affects peripheral, areas of the lungs. Bronchioloalveolar carcinoma is a subtype of Adenocarcinoma.

Squamous cell carcinomas account for about 30% of NSCLC. They are also known as epidermoid carcinomas.

Large cell carcinomas, also known as undifferentiated carcinomas, are the least common type of NSCLC.

**Mixtures of different types of NSCLC are also seen.
Causes of Lung Cancer
A person having lung cancer may present with the following symptoms depending on extend and site of affection.
No symptoms - 25% of lung cancer is detected on routine chest x-ray or CT scan as a single small mass. Such patients most often do not present with any symptoms.
Cough and wheezing
Shortness of breath with chest pain
Coughing up of blood (Hemoptysis)
Cyanosis, a bluish colour of the skin
Changes in the tissue of the nail beds, known as clubbing
Obstruction of airway may cause lung collapse leading to infections like pneumonia and abscess in obstructed area
Nerve affections may cause shoulder pain radiating along the arm (Pancoast syndrome). Paralysis of the vocal cords can cause hoarseness of voice.
Involvement of the oesophagus may cause difficulty in swallowing (Dysphagia).
Symptoms related to metastasis
Lung cancer that has spread to the bones may produce excruciating pain at the sites of bone involvement.
Spread to the brain may cause a number of neurologic symptoms like blurred vision, headache, symptoms of stroke, etc.
Paraneoplastic symptoms
Homeopathic Treatment for Lung Cancer
The role of Homeopathy for Lung Cancer is primarily as a palliative science. Homeopathic treatment for Lung Cancer can give good relief by decreasing the intensity and severity of symptoms. The pain can be managed with homeopathic medicines. Homeopathic medicines do not have any side effects and when used along with chemotherapy help to control the side effects of chemotherapy drugs.

The inherent action of homeopathic medicines is to improve the immunity of the person and increase the self healing capacity of the body. This helps the patient to become more resistant to secondary infections. This also helps to control the spread and progress of disease. Post surgery, the recovery is faster and better and the chances of recurrence too can be reduced.

All in all, the role of homeopathic medicines in Lung Cancer treatment is to make the patient more comfortable and live a relatively healthier life.

Disease Condition of Molluscum
Introduction
Causes
Symptoms
Homeopathic Treatment
Introduction of Molluscum
Molluscum Contagiosum is a common viral infection of the skin though it occasionally also affects the mucous membranes. The condition affects children as well as adults. Males and females are equally affected with this condition. Molluscum Contagiosum is more common in the tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world due to the warm and humid climate.

This condition is characterized by small lesions on the skin that is pearly white, shiny and can either be single or in groups. Initially, the dome of the lesion is firm, but later it becomes softer and grayer and may drain. As the lesions grow they develop a little dimple at the top, which makes them look like a snail. Each lesion may vary in size from 1 mm to 1 cm diameter.
Causes of Molluscum
Molluscum Contagiosum is caused by a virus that is a member of the Poxvirus family. This virus is called Molluscipoxvirus and it is a DNA virus. The incubation period varies from 1 week to 6 months. The lesions are self-limiting and if left alone they can take 6 months to 5 years to disappear completely.
The virus is transmitted by the following routes:
In children:
Direct skin-to-skin contact with infected skin
By saliva
Scratching, picking or breaking the blisters and touching one another
Through shared towels, clothes, etc
Using public toilets or bathing in swimming pool
In adults:
Nonsexual, intimate contact
Multiple sexual contacts
Vaginal, anal or oral intercourse
Sharing contaminated objects such as towels, gym equipments, shaving blades, etc.
Symptoms of Molluscum
Molluscum Contagiosum commonly affects the face, neck, armpit, arms and hands though it may occur anywhere on the body except the palms and soles.
Adults also manifest this infection on the genitals as a sexually transmitted disease. Lower abdomen, inner thighs, pubic area and genitals are common sites of Molluscum Contagiosum in adults.
Molluscum lesions begin as small papules (tiny raised bumps). The lesions are usually small, 1-5 mm in diameter; rarely they are upto 10mm in diameter
The lesions are dry, raised, dome-shaped shiny, flesh coloured lesions and when they grow, they develop a dimple in the centre
The dimpled centre contains cheesy material that can be squeezed out
These lesions are usually painless
If the lesions are picked or disturbed, they can develop super-added bacterial infection and then the patient may complain of pain and itching
Scratching spreads the lesions to other parts of the body and this is known as 'Auto-inoculation'
Usually fewer than 20 lesions are seen but several hundreds of them can appear sometimes
Multiple widespread, persistent and disfiguring lesions can be seen in people with impaired immune systems
Homeopathic Treatment for Molluscum
There is excellent scope in Homeopathy for Molluscum Contagiosum. The treatment is targeted towards the root of the illness and hence Homeopathy brings about lasting cure rather than temporary relief.

Homeopathic treatment for Molluscum Contagiosum that is given is referred to as 'Constitutional Treatment'. This means that the medicines are prescribed on the basis of the chief complaint as well as on the basis of an in-depth study of the entire constitution of an individual.

Homeopathic treatment not only helps in getting rid of the existing molluscum contagiosum but it also helps in removing the tendency for this condition to recur. Also the method of Molluscum treatment is without the use of any surgical aids and hence it helps in preventing scarring and other such side-effects that can occur due to surgery.

Introduction of Neck Pain
Neck pain is one of the commonest ailments affecting both- the young and the old- at the workplace. The intensity of this condition may vary from case to case and ranges from mild to severe debilitating pain. An important point that must be noted is that a large number of cases are treatable with very good results especially if diagnosed early during the course of the illness. However, most people tend to neglect this as a passing complaint and delay treatment till a stage is reached when the pain becomes incapacitating.
Causes of Neck Pain
Few of the common causes of neck pain have been listed below:
Overuse - muscular strain is one of the most common causes of neck pain
Remaining in abnormal postures for prolonged periods - falling asleep on sofas, chairs, etc
Stress - physical and emotional stress
Injuries - from sporting events, day to day minor injuries
Cervical Spondylosis - a degenerative type of arthritis of the joints of Cervical (neck) spine
Spinal Stenosis - condition of narrowing of the spinal canal leading to pressure on the nerves
Spinal Disc Herniation - a condition in which the disc between bones of the spine (Intervertebral disc) starts protruding or bulging causing pressure on the nearby nerves. This condition is also commonly known as 'Slipped Disc'
Severe degeneration - usually as a result of past injuries or whiplash accidents
Referred pain - pain arising in a place different from the neck but felt in the region of the neck. Mostly upper back problems may cause the pain to be referred to the neck region.
Symptoms of Neck Pain
The symptoms may be gradual in onset or may start suddenly.
Pain may be localised to the neck region or may radiate to the nearby regions
Neck soreness (one sided or bilateral)
Stiffness and pain around the shoulder blades
Arm complaints (pain, numbness or weakness)
Burning pain
Headache
Tingling numbness, pain or weakness in arms
Difficulty in writing
Tiredness
Giddiness
Homeopathic Treatment of Neck Pain
There is a wide scope in Homeopathy for neck pain cases. In a few patients that require surgery, the scope of Homeopathy may be limited to palliation of the pain.

In conditions due to improper postures, overuse, stress, early cervical spondylosis, injuries, etc. Homeopathic treatment for neck pain can give excellent results in most cases. The treatment not only helps the existing pain but also prevents the further progress of the condition and complications.

In cases with advanced pathological changes, the role of medical neck pain treatment remains palliative. However, it must be noted that even in such cases, the topmost benefit of Homeopathy is that the treatment is completely safe and without any side-effects whatsoever. Homeopathy is strongly indicated for all cases of neck pain.

Disease Condition of Oral Herpes
Introduction
Causes

Introduction of Oral Herpes
Oral Herpes is predominantly caused by HSV 1 though in some cases it can also be caused by HSV 2. Oral herpes is the most common herpes simplex virus infection amongst the masses throughout the world and is a self-limiting condition. It can occur at any age but mainly affects infants and children (between 10 months and 5 years). Most often, the infection is mild or sub clinical.
Causes of Oral Herpes
As mentioned above, HSV type 1 virus is the cause of Oral Herpes in most cases. HSV type 2 can also cause Oral herpes in some cases especially if Oro-genital contact has been the cause of infection.
Transmission of the infection occurs mainly via the following routes:
Contact with infected saliva
Kissing or other close contact with infected person
Cross-infection of type 1 and 2 viruses may occur from oral-genital contact
Exposure of health care providers (physicians, dentists and nurses) to oral secretions during procedures
Infection may spread to breast feeding mother's nipple from the infected mouth of the baby
Injuries or minor cuts help to inoculate the virus especially into the skin
Nail biters or thumb suckers get herpetic whitlow (herpetic finger infection) through the infected saliva
Skin-to-skin contact in wrestlers and rugby players
Occasionally through sharing food and drinks, utensils, towels, underclothes, etc
Symptoms of Oral Herpes
The symptoms may be gradual in onset or may start suddenly.
Fever, which may be high (102 -104 degrees F) and subsides after 3-5 days
Bodyache and headache
Loss of appetite with weight loss
Listlessness
Irritability and crankiness in children
Symptoms of the disease:
Lesions appear as raised erythematous patches that turn into papules. These papules get filled with fluid to form vesicles
Beginning of blister formation or vesicles in clusters on the lips and on the inside of the mouth called as cold sores or gingivostomatitis.
Vesicles occur in white patches. They break open, coalesce and form painful ulcers with a yellowish coating. Eventually there is scab formation over the ulcers
Pain, burning and tingling at the site
Skin around the mouth is also affected due to infected saliva
In adults, at times, there are vesicles in the interior of the nose, pinna of the ear, eyebrows
Homeopathic Treatment for Oral Herpes
Homeopathy does not consider Herpes Simplex as a local affection of the skin but as something that has deeper roots within the system of the patient. Hence Herpes treatment is not simply symptomatic; rather it is based on a detailed case study and undertakes to treat the disease from the root cause.

Based on the study of all these factors, a single Homeopathic remedy is selected which covers all the important features and helps to relieve the disease in that patient. Homeopathic treatment for Herpes not only helps in alleviating the lesions, the pain and the discomfort associated with Herpes Simplex but it also helps in preventing future outbreaks of the same. An important aspect to be noted is that the medicines of Homeopathy for Herpes do not have any suppressive effects and they are without any side-effects whatsoever.

      Introduction of Sinusitis
Sinusitis is an infection or inflammation of sinuses. Sinuses are the air-filled pockets or spaces found in the bones of face, around eyes and nose. They produce mucus, which, under normal circumstances, drains into the nose. Normally the sinuses produce about 1.5 litres of mucus a day and the quantity increases during allergy, inflammation and infection and this also changes the character of the mucus. Infection of sinuses is one of the common health care complaints in the world.
      Causes of Sinusitis
Infection due to bacteria, virus, fungi
Allergy: Commonest causes are dust, animal dander, smoke, food and pollutants
Upper respiratory tract infection such as common cold or flu
      Nasal polyps
      Nasal septum deviation
      Chronic tonsillitis and adenoiditis
      Hay fever
Climatic factors like sudden temperature changes
      Injury to nasal bones
      Inhaling foreign bodies
Dental causes like an abscessed or badly decayed tooth, following dental treatment
      Types of Sinusitis
Sinusitis can be classified based on the sinus that is involved in the disease process. There are 4 types of Sinuses that are located in the bones of the skull and these are mainly surrounding the nose, hence called as Paranasal sinuses.

Frontal sinusitis - Involves the Frontal sinuses that are located over the eyes in the eyebrow area

Maxillary sinusitis - Involves the Maxillary sinuses that are located inside each cheekbone

Sphenoid sinusitis - Involves the Sphenoid sinuses that are located in the upper region of the nose and behind the eyes

Ethmoid sinusitis - Involves the Ethmoid sinuses that are located just behind the bridge of the nose and between the eyes
      Symptoms of Sinusitis
      Nasal congestion
Nasal obstruction, difficulty breathing through the nose
Thick nasal discharge (may be yellowish or greenish in colour in case of infection)
Sensation of fullness in the face
Sensation of pressure behind the eyes
      Postnasal drip
Cheeks feel tender and pain may be similar to toothache in upper jaw
Mild fever and headache over one or both eyes (if frontal sinuses are affected)
Headache is usually worse in the mornings and made sharper by bending forwards
Tapping, jolting or jarring the tender area hurts
      Sore throat
      Foul smell in nose
      Nasal sounding speech
      Possibly, pus-like nasal discharge
Dry tickling cough with or without fever
      Homeopathic Treatment for Sinusitis
There is immense scope in Homeopathy for Sinusitis. Acute, sub-acute, chronic as well as recurrent sinusitis, all respond favourably to treatment. Homeopathy is especially indicated for chronic and recurrent varieties of sinusitis, which do not respond very well to conventional sinusitis treatment.

Homeopathic treatment for sinusitis can assist in improving the immunity in such patients so that they do not fall prey to frequent infections. Over a period of time with continued treatment, the attacks on sinusitis become less frequent and less severe in such patients. In acute cases of sinusitis also, the response to homeopathic treatment is very good and it prevents the patients from going into chronic or recurrent state of this condition.

      Introduction of Stress Burnout
Stress burnout can be defined as a condition in which overwork or prolonged exposure to stress results in psychological exhaustion and diminished work efficiency.

Stress is a part and parcel of life. However, as long as it remains within manageable limits, it does not confine a person's ability to perform his duties well. When this stress increases beyond a certain tolerable limit, it begins to reflect in the person's behaviour as well as his performance.
      Causes of Stress Burnout
Burnout essentially has its roots in 'stress' and hence it is imperative to diagnose this early on during the illness. Few of the common causes of Stress burnout are as follows:
      Work-related causes:
      Requirements not clearly specified
Tough targets to be achieved in shorter time duration
      Dire consequences of failure
High workload at all times (no 'less-stress' periods in between)
Lack of recognition or appreciation for the work
Stressful relations with colleagues or seniors at workplace

      Lifestyle-related causes:
Lack of a balance between work and recreation
Lack of support and single-handedly managing everything
Lack of adequate social and emotional support
      Lack of sleep
No time for personal attention or growth
      Psychological causes:
Being too much of a perfectionist
      Pessimism
Not being well-matched for the type of the job
      Impatient nature
Lack of confidence in one's work
      Symptoms of Stress Burnout
The features of Stress burnout overlap with a wide spectrum of disorders such as depression, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, etc. The differentiating point between these conditions and Stress burnout is that primarily there is no chemical imbalance in the body in case of Stress burnout as opposed to these conditions. Secondly stress burnout is reversible once the stress is removed from the system.
Few of the common features that are indicative of Stress burnout have been enlisted below:
      Chronic fatigue
      Irritability
      Indecisiveness
      Reduced productivity
      Increased absenteeism
      Deterioration of work quality
      Frustration and sadness
      Feeling hopeless
      Sensation of being powerless
      Withdrawal, isolation and cynicism
Blaming others or organisation for your difficulties
Escapist behaviours such as resorting to drinking, drugs, partying, shopping binges, etc
      Tips for Surviving Stress Burnout
Take a break from your work every 2 hours- move away from your work area for some time

Take regular vacations because they essentially re-energise and refresh you thus enhancing your creativity

      Set achievable targets for yourself

If you begin to feel overburdened by any particular project, put it aside for some time and do something else that is not so challenging.

Don't let frustration overpower you- if you cannot accomplish any particular task, ask for assistance

Take up a hobby that is not related to your work; this helps in bringing balance into your life

Command yourself even for small achievements; enjoy your success no matter how small the accomplishment may be

Work environment must be comfortable and pleasant. Poor work environment leads to lack of interest in work and ultimately Practice relaxation techniques in the office itself

Be organised and prioritise you work; all work cannot be done at the same time, so do important things first

Take adequate time for yourself and family
      Homeopathic Treatment for Stress Burnout

Disease Condition of Ulcerative Colitis
Introduction

Homeopathic Treatment
Introduction of Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative colitis is a disease that causes inflammation and sores, called ulcers, in the inner lining of the rectum and colon. The disease tends to be intermittent in nature, with periods of exacerbated symptoms (relapse) and periods that are relatively symptom-free (remission).

Ulcerative Colitis can be quite painful and debilitating and sometimes it can lead to life-threatening complications. UC is more common between the ages of 20- 40 years. It is slightly more common in female as compared to male.
Causes of Ulcerative Colitis
The exact cause of this condition is not known but a genetic component has been suggested. A person is at a higher risk if he has a close relative, such as a parent, sibling or child, with the disease.
Auto-immunity as a cause has been extensively evaluated and strongly suggested in many cases.
Apart from genetic tendency and Auto-immunity, there are certain extrinsic factors that are responsible for triggering the acute episodes in a susceptible individual.
These external factors may be:
Loose stools
Increased frequency of stools
Blood and/or mucus in stools
Gradual onset of complaints in most cases
Weight loss
Cramps in abdomen
Rectal pain with tenesmus
Fever
Involuntary straining efforts to pass stools
Weakness and poor appetite
Anemia
Ulcerative Colitis often has extra-intestinal manifestations, which may be as follows:
Joint pains (Seronegative Arthritis)
Back stiffness (stiffness of the spine)
Eye complications (iritis, uveitis, episcleritis)
Aphthous stomatitis (mouth ulcers)
Skin: Pyoderma gangrenosum, Erythema nodosum
Auto-immune haemolytic anemia
Clubbing
Deep vein thrombosis
Homeopathic Treatment for Ulcerative Colitis
Homeopathy has good scope in the treatment of Ulcerative Colitis especially in the early stages of the condition. The medicines can help in reducing the frequency of stools, the urging and discomfort associated with the condition, the passage of mucus and blood in the stools, etc. It can also help in slowing down the progress of the disease and the development of complications. Homeopathic treatment for Ulcerative Colitis can help in inducing longer remissions and can also assist in improving immunity so that the patient does not face frequent relapses.

At a later stage, when structural changes have occurred in the body, there is palliative scope of Homeopathy for Ulcerative Colitis while reducing the need for steroids and other immunosuppressive medication. The nutritional status of the patient also improves with regular Homeopathic medication.

Homeopathy can also help to prevent the need for surgery in Ulcerative Colitis treatment, if the therapy is opted for at the right time.

Disease Condition of Warts
Introduction
Causes
Types
Homeopathic Treatment
Introduction of Warts
Warts are basically small, benign (harmless), non-cancerous skin growths caused by a viral (Human Papilloma Virus - HPV) infection of the skin and mucous membrane. The appearance of a wart depends on where it is growing and may vary in color, size and texture; it can be dark, flat and smooth too. They can spread from one part of the body to another and form one person to another person.

More often than not, warts grow out of the skin in cylindrical columns that generally do not join together, when they grow on thin skin (e.g. face) but in places where the skin is thicker, these columns cluster and join together in a compact manner. This gives the skin surface the distinctive mosaic pattern. Frequently there are black dots seen in a wart, which are nothing but thrombosed or clotted blood vessels that have grown quickly inside the wart.

Homeopathy offers the option of treating this condition without surgery and any local application. Homeopathic treatment for warts helps to effectively heal and control their recurrence and spread to other body parts.
Causes of Warts
Some people are naturally resistant to the HPV viruses and may never grow warts. A weak constitution and weakened immune system predisposes a person to form warts; Persons with a weakened immune system (such as patients suffering from AIDS, lymphoma, other viral diseases like herpes, or those who are taking chemotherapy) are more prone to get infected with HPV virus resulting in wart formation.
Warts are viral in origin and are caused because of infiltrations by viruses belonging to the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) family.
HPV viruses enter the body through the skin or mucous membrane. After entering the body they most often do not produce any symptoms for 1 to 8 months. Initially when the warts appear, they are skin-coloured and feel rough to touch, but they can also be dark, flat, and smooth.
A tiny cut or scratch makes a particular area of skin more vulnerable to infections; hence it has been observed that warts occur more easily if the skin has been damaged in some way. Also, some scientists believe that warts are caused by stress.
Types of Warts
Warts are classified depending on the location where they appear and type of HPV infection.

There are 5 types of warts as follows:

Common warts

Common warts are small, hard, dome-shaped and typically grayish-brown warts. They are rough and may resemble a cauliflower, with black blotches inside, particularly when they enlarge.

Flat warts/juvenile warts

Flat warts are smaller (about the size of a pinhead), have flat tops and are smoother than other warts. These may be pink, light brown, or yellow. They tend to grow in large numbers - 20 to 100 at any one time.

Plantar warts

These tend to be hard and flat with a rough surface and well-defined boundaries. Like common warts, these warts may have black dots that are actually abnormal capillaries, which ooze blood when the surface is shaved. When plantar warts grow in clusters, they are known as 'mosaic warts'.

Filiform warts

Filiform warts are by and large flesh-coloured warts that resemble a human finger in shape.

Genital warts

Genital warts too result due to infection with Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). They are one of the most widespread sexually transmitted diseases (STD) prevalent nowadays. Out of the 100 subtypes of HPV that have been identified, 30 of them are known to cause genital warts.
Homeopathic Treatment for Warts
Warts treatment with Homeopathy entails prescribing medicines on a constitutional basis. Here the person is treated with his inherent tendencies. The medicines of Homeopathy for warts help to enhance the immune system and increase the body's capacity to heal itself. The medicines not only help to heal the current lesions but also play an important role in controlling the spread, progress and recurrence of the warts.
